Windsurfing
Regularly listed in the top ten windsurfing beaches in Europe, Vassiliki Bay enjoys perfect conditions for beginners and experts alike.
Mornings tend to be calm and the wide shallow bay is ideal for learners and families. In the afternoons, the wind changes direction – with a regularity for which it is famous – and it’s time for the more advanced to test their skills.
Equipment and tuition are all available locally.
Sailing
The Ionian Islands are a sailer’s paradise – from learning to sail a dinghy to chartering a yacht. Lefkada is a popular base for many of the flotilla companies, with picturesque bays and other islands within easy reach.
Vassiliki has a brand new marina which is bound to be popular with yacht crews. Popular Sivota is only a 20 minute drive away and a lovely spot for dinner. Dinghy rental and tuition are available from the beach.
Other watersports
Paddle boarding and sea kayaking are both available in Vassiliki, and kite surfing is also popular on the island.
For snorkelers, the crystal clear waters provide plenty of opportunities. And for swimmers there are plenty of shallow areas to tempt even the nervous. The turquoise waters and lovely sea temperature will certainly tempt you back for more!
