Villa Petros
Villa Petros stands on a peaceful green hillside above Vassiliki Bay in southern Lefkada. The house, its private pool and garden all enjoy breathtaking panoramic views and have everything you need to create the perfect holiday for up to 6 people.
The villa has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms and we offer it for rental by a maximum of 6 people, age 10 and above.
Thoughtfully designed interiors
We purchased the villa in October 2019 just as the season finished. Jeanette runs an interior design practice in the UK, and we used the winter months to have some updates carried out. We also completely refurnished the villa, as well as creating a lovely raised dining area outside. The global pandemic meant our first real 'season' was 2022, but despite a later than anticipated start, 2023 already brought repeat bookings.

Colour palette and style
‘Relaxed coastal’ probably best describes what we have created. The island is naturally beautiful, and we wanted to reflect that rather than distract from it. Our colour palette is soft blues, greens and creams, with the occasional dash of brightness.
Layout
The villa is built on two floors, with two bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, on the ground floor. A spiral staircase winds up into the living area of the villa. Both downstairs bedrooms have doors onto the patio.
Outside a wide stone staircase leads to the pool area, and up a few more steps to the outside dining area and into the upper floor of the villa. On the first floor of the villa there is an open plan kitchen / living / dining area. The third bedroom is also on this floor, with the third bathroom just next to it.
The ‘upside down’ layout was one of the things that attracted us to Villa Petros, as it allows the living area to make the most of the stunning views.

The ever-changing views
When looking at property on the island we kept coming back to this same view - the one we enjoyed on our first holiday in Lefkada.
But it's so much more than a view of the sea. From the villa's windows, its garden and pool, you have views of mountains, green valley, the large village of Vassiliki, as well as the bay and the islands of Ithaca and Kefalonia. Well, those are the elements of the view - but how they appear depends on time of day, time of year, weather and the light.
Sometimes the islands are so clear you can see the villages on them, at other times they're blurry shapes you could mistake for clouds. Early morning there is usually a stillness and peace, the sea below as calm as a millpond. Late afternoon a breeze has the windsurfers zipping across the bay like multicoloured insects.
Summer evenings are warm and perfect for outdoor dining (and even a late swim in the pool, looking at the lights in the bay.)
